Tony Reidy

Tony Reidy was elected voluntary President of the Australian Council of Social Service for a two-year term commencing in January 2016. He was chief executive of the Tasmanian Council of Social Service for five years to June 2015.

Tony is the chief executive of Alzheimer’s Australia Tasmania, appointed to that role in April 2016.

He is an appointed University Associate, and an honorary Advisory Board Member of the University of Tasmania’s Institute for the Study of Social Change.

Tony Reidy was chief executive of medical research institute the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation for ten years, has held a number of senior roles in the public and private sectors. He is a former chief-of-staff to State Government ministers and a Tasmanian senator, and a ministerial policy adviser at state and federal level.
